WICHITA — The National Weather Service in Wichita placed Barton, Russell, Ellsworth and Lincoln counties under a winter weather advisory Friday until 1 p.m.
Snow showers had been falling during the morning hours.  
Rain developed overnight and shifted to snow in the morning, A wet and slushy snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches remains possible in the advisory area, especially on grass covered surfaces.
Due to the slushy nature of the expected snow, roads especially elevated surfaces may become slick along   with reduced visibilities down to 1/2 mile.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of winter weather will cause travel difficulties. be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities. use caution while driving.
