Barton Dance Theatre, the student dance company at Barton Community College, will hold a fun, new fundraiser from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15 at the Kirkman Gym. The event is called Parent’s Valentines Night Out.
Parents can take the night off while their children aged 4-10 years are invited to spend the evening at a creative camp with the Barton Dance Theatre dancers where they will learn a dance, make a piggy bank, act out a story, and do a playful tumbling class. Also included is a healthy snack. The evening will conclude with a family-friendly movie.
Cost is $25 per child and $15 per addition sibling, which includes supplies for crafts and snacks. Register through Feb. 13 by contacting Performing Arts Dance Instructor/Coordinator Danika Bielek at 792-9253, extension 253.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to help defray travel costs for Barton Dance Theatre students for their spring dance tour to Denver, Colo., where they will perform, work with the professional dance company Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, and take classes at Colorado University Boulder.
“Additionally, your children will love the camp and you deserve a night off!” Bielek said.
