Barton to host music events

Vocal and piano students ranging from grade school to high school will attend the Parnassus Music Competition this Saturday at Barton Community College. Sign-in will start at 8 a.m., with performances starting at 9 a.m. in the Dorothy Moses Morrison Chapel, located in the Fine Arts Building on the Barton County campus. Performances are open to the public.

The competition is sponsored by the Central Kansas Piano Teachers League.

On Tuesday, the Central Prairie League Music Festival will take place throughout the day in the Fine Arts Building. Hundreds of music students from Ness City, Victoria, St. John, Macksville, LaCrosse, Kinsley and Ellinwood will present solos and small and large ensembles for ratings.
