The next Barton Community College Board of Trustees study session will feature a look at the college’s partnerships with area high schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study session is set for 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building on campus.
Of Barton’s 14 service-area partner high schools, all but one changed their starting date for the fall semester. However, the college is looking at more opportunities for student involvement than ever before. During the study session on Tuesday, Karly Little, coordinator of community education, will talk about the College Advantage program and recent changes.
Other topics on the agenda include the August financial statement; reports on proposals to offer new certificates via the Hazardous Materials Management program and the Emergency Management/Homeland Security program; news on Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) scrimmages; and the latest version of Cougar Driven, the college’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
