Students at Barton Community College took time out Wednesday to help United Way of Central Kansas “Stuff the Bus” with donations of goods to help local United Way agencies.
BCC students, including student athletes, helped transfer the goods from Barton’s bus, which was filled with donated goods collected from college employees and students, to the United Way’s larger school bus, which was stationed at Walmart to collect additional goods from shoppers.
Executive Director of the United Way of Central Kansas Julie Bugner-Smith said the efforts by BCC were very beneficial to the campaign.
“We have 21 agencies, from the Family Crisis Center to The Salvation Army, and with Barton’s involvement and employee base it makes a big difference to the agencies and our community as a whole,” she said.
