The Barton Community College Board of Trustees will learn more about Esports – a form of competition based around video games – when it meets for the October study session at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, in Room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building. Started as student-run events in the 1970s, Esports has evolved on campuses and now 115 universities and colleges offer Esports scholarships. The NJCAA is planning leagues in the future.

The trustees will also learn more about the new Active Learning Classroom and will then take part in a live demonstration with Erin Renard. The September financial statement is also on the agenda.
