The Barton Community College Board of Trustees will hold a public budget hearing at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, in Room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building. It will coincide with the board’s August study session, but a special meeting was declared to allow the board to take action on some items. Also on the agenda is a recommendation to approve the purchase of two Lochinvar boilers and associated equipment for a total cost of $136,764.
During the study session, the board will learn more about a Shafer Gallery Meet and Greet with award-winning film director Blair Hayes, set for 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. Other topics are the July financial statement, crisis communication plan, BCC 50th anniversary event planning, cyber-security training, and a report on Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Academies presented by Myrna Perkins, Barton’s chief accreditation officer and director of financial aid. The HLC provides the college’s accreditation.
