Barton Community College’s Board of Trustees is set to approve a proposed budget when it meets at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, in Room F-30, on the lower level of the Fine Arts Building. The budget will be approved for publication as a legal notice in the Great Bend Tribune; a public budget hearing will be held at 4 p.m. on Aug. 9.
The published budget keeps the mill levy the same as last year and the request for tax dollars is approximately $20,000 less than last year’s request. Due to the lower valuation of oil, the same
mill levy will generate fewer tax dollars. The mill levy request is based on the valuation number provided by the County on June 21.
The college’s operational budget is also on the agenda, along with reviewing the Emergency Succession Plan and electing board officers for the new fiscal year.
