The Barton Community College Board of Trustees will hold a board retreat this Thursday and Friday, in lieu of its regular study session.
Trustees will leave Wednesday evening and check into the Courtyard Marriott at Junction City. On Thursday morning they will travel to Fort Leavenworth, where they will have meetings with faculty and students, and lunch with the garrison commander.
From 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday they will be back at the Marriott, holding a trustee forum with Fort Riley faculty and staff. Evening topics include strategic planning and the monthly review of the financial statement.
The retreat will continue Friday morning with a working breakfast at 7 a.m. in the hotel’s Riley Conference Room, where they will have a trustee policy discussion. They will travel to Fort Riley, where they will visit the Education Service Office, tour the main campus office and meet staff before having lunch with the garrison commander.
Their final meeting will be with the director of the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security Department of Military Services.
