Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education member Don Williams and Barton Community College Board of Trustees member Tricia Reiser will be leaving their respective boards at the end of the year, having lost to newcomers in the November election. Both said their goodbyes at recent meetings.

Williams attended his final luncheon meeting on Nov. 18 at Jefferson Elementary School.

“I’m going to really miss coming to the schools,” he said, adding that he also had enjoyed serving on the board. There is a regular board meeting set for Dec.  13 at the District Education Center.

Reiser attended her final board of trustees on Nov. 23, saying she will be unable to attend the Dec. 14 study session and board meeting. Chairman Mike Johnson said he appreciated having her perspective on education, noting Reiser is the Director of Teaching and Learning at Great Bend USD 428.

Chad Burrows will join the Great Bend Board of Education at the January meeting. 

Carl Helm will join the BCC Board of Trustees at the January meeting.
