In response to the blizzard conditions this week, the City of Great Bend and Great Bend Economic Development Inc’s Great Bend Alive announced Tuesday afternoon a date change for the newly revamped “Beat the Winter Blues Sale and Snowball Drop.” Originally scheduled for this Saturday, the event will now take place on Saturday, Jan. 20.

The decision to reschedule the event was made to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants, taking into consideration various factors such as weather conditions and logistical considerations, event organizers said

“We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding our ‘Beat the Winter Blues Sale and Snowball Drop,’ and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the date change. The participating stores voted to move it to provide the safest and best experience for everyone involved,” said Christina Hayes, Great Bend Community Coordinator. “Our top priority is the safety and satisfaction of citizens and visitors and we are so excited that Great Bend Alive is adding the Snowball Drop inside the Crest – we felt that moving the date would be the best option for all.”

The revised schedule for the event on Jan. 20 is as follows:

• Store hours vary for shopping – see flyer or Facebook event for all participating stores.

• Snowball Drop at 10:15 a.m. inside the Crest Theatre with Pop Up Vendor Market.

• Hot cocoa stations and deals on winter merchandise until stores close.

“The City of Great Bend, participating stores and GB Alive look forward to welcoming everyone on Jan. 20 for a day of winter fun, incredible deals, and unforgettable moments,” Hayes said.
