Stafford “After School” Students came to the Stafford County Museum on Sept. 17 to ring the big Bell in unison with others across the country in honor of the Constitution of the United States.
September 17-22 was dedicated “Constitution Week” by the Daughters of the American Revolution and President Dwight Eisenhower in 1956 to honor the document signed on Sept. 17, 1787. Beginning with “We the People” of the United States, In order to form a more perfect union... .” It has guided our democracy for 237 years. Bookmarks with “The Preamble” to the Constitution were given to each student who were thanked for helping with this important observance by Kanza Chapter DAR member Barbara Grimmett.
