ELLINWOOD — A soup luncheon will be held on Sunday to raise funds for Anna Fisher, a 2018 Ellinwood High School graduate who was recently diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma, a form of liver cancer. Freewill offerings will be accepted at the luncheon, open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Ellinwood American Legion Post 320. Chicken noodle, chili, potato soup, and Lyles Lashley’s “Famous Gumbo” will be served.

According to information posted by the Ellinwood Chamber of Commerce, Fisher was initially treated and had surgery at Kansas City but has since been referred to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go to Anna Fisher and her family to help with medical expenses and travel costs.
