Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Barbara Bollier holds a socially distanced town hall Thursday evening at Veterans Memorial Park. “It’s clearly going to be a very close race,” Bollier said. “Your vote matters.” She is running for the seat being vacated by Sen. Pat Roberts, and faces Republican challenger Dr. Roger Marshall. “People are tired of partisanship,” she said. A group of about 40 turned out and asked questions about everything from Medicaid expansion to affordable health care and climate change. One man who said he is undecided asked why he should vote for her. “I’m willing to stand up and speak out. I am a very independent voice – I stand up for what I believe is right,” she said.
