Bond for a Great Bend woman arrested Monday on drug charges has been reduced from $300,000 to $100,000 after further investigation, Lt. Scott Bieberle at the Great Bend Police Department said Thursday.
Joey Steinbacher was originally booked on charges of distribution of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of a controlled substance. However, after measurements were done by city staff, it was determined that the location of her arrest, 2913 Quivira Ave., is more than 1,000 feet from Jefferson Elementary School. By car, the locations are half a mile apart, according to Google Maps.
She was arrested after the Great Bend Police Department executed a search warrant and reportedly found 1.3 pounds of marijuana as well as suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms after investigating a possible burglary Monday.
She remained in the Barton County Jail as of Thursday afternoon.
