A resolution that will lead to a spring bond proposal election is on the agenda for the next Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education meeting. The board will hold a luncheon meeting at noon on Thursday at Lincoln Elementary School, 5630 Broadway Ave.

According to the agenda:

“The goals of this bond proposal are to address topics identified through an extensive process of community research and feedback. These topics prioritize safety, security, and quality education for children and those needs still exist. Revisions to the proposal reflect sensitivity toward taxpayers with a lower mill rate and four options for voters to consider at the poll.

“Question 1: $28,040,644 - Storm shelters, secure entrances, secure intruder vestibules in schools

“Question 2: $4,545,254 - Middle school addition to move all 6th grade students to GBMS

“Question 3: $4,671,766 - Safe drop-off/pick-up locations with parking

“Question 4: $1,830,452 - GBHS Locker Room addition.”

Other items on the agenda are approval of contributions and any personnel changes. Lincoln Principal Misty Straub and other staff members will share information regarding the academic programs and school improvement efforts at their building.
