When asked why he would be the best person to represent the city, McPherson said, “My goal is to see that Great Bend continues to grow and prosper. In order to grow and prosper, we need to expand our business community, while continuing to support the farming and oil areas.”
McPherson has practiced private law in Great Bend for over 60 years and has been heavily involved in the local community. He has not only been a member of the organizations, but held a leadership position within many of them including past chairman of the Great Bend SCORE (Counselors to American’s Small Business) Chapter 673, past president and secretary/treasurer of the Barton County Bar Association, past president of the Kansas Association of Hospital Attorneys, and a past Exalted Ruler of the Great Bend Elks Club.
