Budget, taxes, property issues on Ellinwood City Council agenda

The Ellinwood City Council will address a myriad of issues when they meet Tuesday, July 13 at the Ellinwood City Office, 104 E. 2nd St., Ellinwood.

The council will address multiple budget-related items, including setting a date for a work study session for the upcoming budget, a notice to exceed the revenue neutral rate, and discussions regarding the library’s budget and board.

The council will also discuss the possibility of increasing the city’s sales tax in order to cover more city improvements. They will also discuss issues pertaining to the city’s water wells and power plant.

They will also address the condition of two residential properties, as well as the sale of a lot at 400 E. 4th St.

The board has also scheduled two executive sessions for the meeting, one of non-elected personnel, and the other for acquisition of property.

The council will also recognize Water Department employee Nathan White for five years of service.
