Great Bend Fire Department was asked by the Great Bend Police Department if it could assist with a vehicle recovery from Veterans Memorial Lake Tuesday morning. At approximately 8:30 a.m., members of the GBFD Dive Rescue team arrived at the boat ramp, deployed divers and successfully located the vehicle, Interim Fire Chief Brent Smith said. With the vehicle located, a cable from a tow truck was attached and the vehicle was removed from the water.
