Representatives from Pawnee Heights School (PHS) in Rozel present nearly 40 Chromebooks to Central Kansas Christian Academy in a recent donation to the private Christian school located in Great Bend.

Central Kansas Christian Academy in Great Bend, received a donation of nearly 40 Google Chromebooks for their students to use for educational purposes. The donation was made by Pawnee Heights School (PHS), a small 1A school in Rozel.

“We are so grateful for this generous gift from Pawnee Heights School,” said Dottie Dozier, CKCA Principal. “Our students and staff will make great use of the educational resources.”

Dr. David Clapham with PHS delivered the Chromebooks to CKCA on Dec. 9 and students will be able to start checking them out early next year. To accompany the Chromebooks, CKCA also purchased three carts to store and charge them in. The carts were purchased used from USD 428 in Great Bend for a steeply discounted price, so additional thanks were given to the Great Bend school district for that transaction.

Central Kansas Christian Academy is a nondenominational community Christian school for students from kindergarten through eighth grade, with a positive environment that combines Christian character training with an excellent academic curriculum. The core classroom studies are supplemented with a variety of enrichment courses, such as physical education, music, band, art, library, and computer applications. Students also have opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities and athletics, such as basketball, cheer-leading and Student Council. This spring, CKCA will complete a two-year accreditation process through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
