ELLSWORTH — The newly-formed Central Plains USD 112 school district elected seven members for its school board Tuesday.
For Position 7, an at-large spot, Michelle A. Brokes won with 427 votes, ahead of Tom Lumpkins (346) and Kevin M. Liebl (294).
Winning contested spots were (Pos. 4) Ronald G. Etchison with 166 votes and (Pos. 6) Richard D. Rugan with 99 votes.
Running unopposed in USD 112 were (Pos. 1) R. Malcomb Shaw; (Pos. 2) Dawn Dolezal; (Pos. 3) Cherlyn Kay Maier; and (Pos. 5) Jerry Bieberle.
Earning school board positions in Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo USD 327 were (Pos. 1) Mark A. Herzog with 303 votes; (Pos. 2) Gina McGowan with 413 votes; (Pos. 5) Ron Tenbrink with 288 votes; and (Pos. 7) Deneen Urbanek with 258 votes.
The Ellsworth County commissioners will canvass local results at 8 a.m. Friday in the commission room at the Ellsworth County Courthouse.
