Dates for the chip seal street project change

There have been changes to the dates of the chip seal with a fog seal topcoat street project. The contractor will begin work this Thursday, Aug. 17. The project is to last up to two weeks depending on weather and unforeseen circumstances.  

Great Bend Public Works Director Jason Cauley is asked residents to  not park on the following streets starting Thursday:

• Holland between Broadway and 16th

• Hubbard between 10th and 16th

• Heizer between 11th and 16th

• Lakin between Main and Baker

• 12th between Main and Frey

• 11th between Hubbard and Frey

• Ninth between Odell and Stone

• Ninth between Main and Kansas

• Ninth between Baker and Pine

• Baker between 8th and 10th

• Eighth between Washington and Odell

• Eighth between Stone and Williams

• Eighth between Holland and Hubbard

• Eighth between Frey and Hickory

• Pine between Fifth and 10th

• 800 block of Heizer

• Stone between 7th and 8th

• Holland between Seventh and Eighth

• Seventh between Baker and Hubbard

• Third between Baker and Holland

• Holland between 2nd and 3rd

• 300 block of Heizer

• Fruit between Third and Fifth

• Second between Frey and Elm

• Almond between Third and Fourth

• Fourth between Plum and Dogwood

• Third between Dogwood and Kiowa

“We will attempt to contact those who are still parked on the streets,” Cauley said. But, vehicles that have not been moved when work commences, will need to be towed. 

“Please be attentive as crews work in these areas,” he said. “We will make every effort to minimize the impact to traffic and we thank you for your patience.”
