The Great Bend City Council announced Monday morning the city administrator candidates and schedule for their visit to the community this week. The City of Great Bend will be interviewing three candidates on Wednesday and Thursday.

Candidates include: Larry Collins, who served as fire chief and interim city administrator in Ann Arbor Michigan; Kendal Francis, who served as city manager in Coffeyville and city administrator in Lakin; and Scott Hildebrand, who currently serves as the city administrator for Valley Center.

Each of the candidates will attend both days and they will participate in a variety of city tours, interviews and sessions. The schedule is set and Great Bend Chamber of Commerce members are invited to attend the chamber meet-and-greet at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Great Bend Events Center, 3111 10th St. The public is invited to meet the candidates during a public gathering from 4:30-6 p.m. at Events Center.

“We look forward to the opportunity of meeting with each of the candidates over this two day period as well as giving business and community members the chance to meet and learn more about these candidates,” Great Bend Director of Human Resources Randy Keasling said.

Slavin Management Consultants is the company in charge of the official search for candidates. Their team approach has helped City Council narrow down candidates to those who best fit the needs of the Great Bend community.
