City crews working on damaged lines

Great Bend city utility crews are having trouble responding to reports of water leaks as quickly as they normally do, Director of Public Works Jason Cauley said. A statement issued Wednesday explained that “crews have been inundated with utility locates, water leaks, and damaged sewer mains caused by contractors” in the last few weeks.

“As a result, everyone on the city water and sewer crews have been working long hours to keep up with the demand and, unfortunately, we are unable to get to leaks as quickly as we normally do.

“If you have an issue, please call the Front Door Building at 620-793-4100 or City of Great Bend Utilities at 620-793-4170 and we will get to it as quickly as we can, but please be patient as emergencies and those without services will take top priority. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.”

Those with questions or concerns may contact Cauley at 620-793-4150.
