The City of Great Bend announced they it will burn the biggest tree pile at the compost site next week. Work plans to start Monday, Dec. 2 and could last up until Friday, Dec. 6.
This pile needs to be taken care of to clear the space and allow for additional room in case we would have an ice storm. The pile will be manned by city staff 24 hours a day and the public works department will continue to keep staff on the crack sealing process as well.
The city appreciates the patience of the public while this work is being performed. Contact James Giles, street superintendent, at 620-793-4150 in regards to this project.
