Central Kansas Christian Academy in Great Bend recently received a grant for over $2,000 to upgrade the whiteboards in all of its classrooms.

After more than a decade since the original boards were purchased, they were showing their age. The CKCA Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) submitted a grant to purchase a durable overlay material to give them a fresh start and buy several more years until they need to be replaced fully. The grant also included professional installation.

The PTF group raises money throughout the year through two main fundraisers – a Chili Feed, which is coming up on Oct. 27 – and by selling butter braids in the winter. Those funds are then used to provide educational enhancement grants for teachers and students, for projects or training not covered in the normal operating budget.

The Curbside Chili Feed will be from 5-7:30 p.m. on Oct. 27. Join the curbside pickup line in the Everything Under the Son parking lot, just north of Central Kansas Christian Academy at 407 McKinley St. For advance tickets call the school.
