Commission swears in members, reorganizes Monday

The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes:

• The swearing in of county officials.

• Election of a commission chairman and chairman pro tem.

• A recognition of outgoing commissioners.

• A resolution establishing procedures for certain economic and community development expenditures.

• A resolution establishing a salary policy for elected officials.

• A North Homestead Township board appointment.

Following the agenda meeting, the following appointments are scheduled:

• 10:30 a.m.  –   mailing certified valuation notices with Wendy Prosser, county appraiser.

• 10:45 a.m. – Great Bend Economic Development Inc. with Sara Arnberger, GBED president

• 11:15 a.m. – chamber of commerce updates from Ellinwood, Hoisington and Great Bend.

• 11:30 a.m. – regular business discussion with  Matt Patzner, director of operations.
