Commission talks SPARK funds, council talks streets

The Barton County Commission and the Great Bend City Council both meet Monday, and both plan virtual meetings due to COVID-19 public gathering restrictions.

The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes a proclamation supporting the fall campaign of United Way of Central Kansas, a lease agreement with Murphy Property for Road and Bridge Storage and SPARK fund distributions.

The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, at City Hall, 1209 Williams St., but the meeting will be closed to the public.

The agenda includes an application to the Kansas Department of Commerce for Small Cities Community Development Block Grant funds, a bike share arrow route change and crack seal street maintenance.
