Cougar gamers carry momentum with solid week 2 performances

The Barton Community College esports team sustained its early season momentum in week two action as the Cougars recorded their second straight 7-3 week.

Dropping a tough contest in the season opener, the Rocket League crew bounced back with vengeance handing Barton its first victory of the week sweeping Southside Virginia Community College in straight games 9-0, 5-0, and 11-1.

Madden duo’s Davon Morris and Chance Costello remained perfect dispatching their opponent with their second straight clean sweep over Union County College and John Woods Community College.

Falling on the short end of a three-match battle in week one action, the Cougar Rainbow 6 Siege five pack bounced back dispatching Alexandria Tech Community College 7-0 and 7-1 knotting its season mark to 1-1.

In Super Smash Brothers freshman Nicholas Kohman kept his season sheet clean with a 3-0 victory over Salt Lake Community College while Trent Keffer fell on the wrong side 3-1 to Iowa Central Community College.

Competing for the first time this season after an opening week bye, the Call of Duty 2v2 of Adam Hardin and Kindric Castro opened their duo season strong with a 3-0 victory (6-2, 6-3, and 6-1) over Union County College. Rounding out the victories for the Cougars was the Overwatch squad regrouping from an opening week loss rolling to a 3-0 sweep over Hutchinson Community College.

Call of Duty Cold War 4v4 suffered its first loss of the season falling 3-1 to Louisburg College while NBA 2K gamer Joshua-Ryan Lujan dropped his first contest of the season to Carl Albert State College 2-1.
