The Great Bend City Council will meet Monday night and the Barton County Commission will meet Tuesday morning, and both plan virtual meetings.
The Great Bend City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, at City Hall, 1209 Williams. One can also view the meetings live online at www.facebook.com/gbcitycouncil/. The meeting will be recorded.
The agenda includes:
• A proposal from a group of Vietnam War veterans to install a Vietnam War memorial at Veterans Memorial Park.
• 2023 year-end budget transfers.
• Property and casualty insurance renewal.
• A $1.4 million Moderate-Income Housing grant-American Rescue Plan Act loan agreement through the city for the Lofts at the Zarah project.
County Commission
The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the former JC Penney building, 1500 Kansas in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

• A transfer of Special Alcohol Fund money to Barton County All-Stars program.
• Courthouse HVAC replacement project change orders.
