The Great Bend City Council will meet Monday night and the Barton County Commission will meet Tuesday morning, and both plan virtual meetings due to COVID-19 public gathering restrictions.
The Great Bend City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, at City Hall, 1209 Williams. One can also view the meetings on Access TV via Cox Cable Channel 20 or live online at www.facebook.com/gbcitycouncil/.The meeting will be recorded.
The agenda includes resolutions deeming properties at 2555 19th and 1923 Holland as unsafe in dangerous, a public hearing request for the property at 1210 Morton as potentially unsafe and dangerous, bids for the overlay of Broadway and repair of the 19th and Harrison intersection, and a budget discussion on the new Police Station/Municipal Court Building.
The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.
It will be streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes a letter of support for Ellinwood District Hospital, bulk mailing of real estate valuation notices and a matching fund request from the SouthWest Kansas Area Agency on Aging.

• 10 a.m. – program update with Sara Hayden, Great Bend Economic Development president.
• 10:30 a.m. – program update and Dartmouth bridge expansion joint repair bids with Barry McManaman, county engineer.
• 11 a.m. – cold mix bids with Darren Williams, county works director.
• 11:15 a.m. – Barton County Conservation District
• 11:30 p.m. – grant update with Sue Cooper, grants and compliance manager.
• 1:15 p.m. – regular business discussion to include the financial update, telework policy and CIC service review with Matt Patzner, director of operations.
