Barton County Office Buildings will be closed on Friday in observance of Veterans Day, which falls on Saturday. The Health Department and the Records Division of the Sheriff’s Office will also be closed that day. 

The Landfill be open regular hours on Saturday, but will close at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Emergency services will be in normal operation.

In addition, the Barton County Commission will meet as the Board of County Canvassers at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, in the Office of the County Clerk. At that time, they will canvass ballots from the Tuesday general election. 

But, there will be no commission meeting that morning. It is anticipated that the Commission, as well as other County officials, will leave for the Kansas Association of Counties annual meeting following the canvass.
