County Commission discusses depositories, GB council reorganizes

The Barton County Commission will meet Monday morning and the Great Bend City Council will meet Monday evening.

The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19. It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes approval of added/abated/escaped/refunded taxes and the designation of official depositories for county funds. 

The Great Bend City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, at the Great Bend Events Center, 3111 10th St., and the meeting will be open to the public.

But, due to COVID-19, one can also view the meetings on Access TV via Cox Cable Channel 20 or live online at www.facebook.com/gbcitycouncil/. The meeting will be recorded.

The agenda includes the recognition of outgoing council members and the swearing in of new council members, the vacancy for the council’s Ward 3 and bids for the cost-share project to redo much of 10th Street.
