A resolution concerning the involvement of sitting Barton County commissioners on area boards and committees is back on the agenda for Wednesday’s Barton County Commission meeting.
The commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.
It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The resolution on the agenda was first proposed by Commissioner Kirby Krier but has been tabled at meetings throughout the month of September. Krier has proposed guidelines for commissioners when dealing with area boards and committees.
Other items on the agenda include a proclamation in support of Manufacturing Day, and requests for extended deadlines on facade improvement projects at 2105 Forest Ave. and 1401 Main, both in Great Bend.
Following the close of the agenda meeting, the commission will consider the authorization of personnel changes for classified positions, sign any documentation approved during the agenda meeting or sign any other documentation required for regular County business. Similar action may take place throughout the day. Although subject to change, the following appoints have been scheduled:
10 a.m. or following the close of the agenda meeting – Grant Opportunities, Personnel and Advisory Board Resolution update with Karen Winkelman, Health Director.
10:15 a.m. – Program update with Brenda Kaiser, Human Resource Director.
10:30 a.m. – Equipment needs with Dena Popp, 911 Director.
10:45 a.m. – Regular business discussion with Matt Patzner, Director of Operations.
