The Barton County Appraiser’s Office is in the process of its 17% re-inspection per Kansas statutes, County Appraiser Barb Esfeld said. This year’s area is the City of Hoisington, parts of Great Bend from 10th to 24th Street and Washington to the east side.

This inspection consists of verifying all data and updating pictures for each parcel, she said. All staff will be wearing Barton County ID badges and be driving in marked county vehicles.

One a side note, Esfeld said her office requests anyone with damage to their home due to floodwaters, hail or other catastrophically related situations to contact the office and provide details. Personnel will then follow up on the property conditions after Jan. 1.

A new way to search

Esfeld said the Barton County Appraiser’s Office now has another option on its website to research property data. It is called Property Search/Appraisal Portal and is located on the left-hand side under parcel search or under the Quick links on the main page of the county site (www.bartoncounty.org). The county still has the property search – ORKA – but now offers two sites to access data easily.

For questions call the Appraiser’s Office, 620-793-1821.
