United Way of Central Kansas announced this week the appointment of Patrick Cowan to their Executive Board of Directors in the role of vice-president.

Cowan joined the UWCK team in 2017 as a co-chair. In 2018, he accepted a position on the board and has been a vital member of the board in the years since.

In his time with UWCK, Cowan has helped with individual fundraisers by volunteering his time at events such as the Kickoff and the Hoisington Tailgate as well as offering valuable input in regards to programs, partnerships, and donors. His knowledge of the community is also integral to determining the needs of the community and how best to affect change.

Cowan, while growing up in the Kansas City area, has always had family roots in Barton County, and moved here in 2008. He has been with Adams Brown since 2014 and is currently their network administrator.

When asked why he chooses to volunteer with United Way of Central Kansas he said “While serving as a co-chair I got a chance to see how many good things the United Way was doing locally and how many lives were being impacted by their programs and community partners. I knew I had to continue to be a part of something so awesome going on in our community.”

Mark Mingenback stepped down from the Executive Board as vice-president after serving in that role for six years. Mingenback will continue to serve on the UWCK Board of Directors.
