Four violinist brothers who formed the DePue Brothers Band will share their vivid blend of bluegrass, classical and rock music in a concert for the Golden Belt Community Concert Association at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium.

This GBCCA event is available to concert association members. Full-time students will be admitted to the concert for a $5 donation at the door by showing their school ID. The auditorium will open at 6:30 p.m.

The DePue Brothers are classical virtuosos in their own right, bringing rich and diverse talents to their band’s sound. They made music together as members of an iconic musical family from Bowling Green, Ohio, for more than 25 years. The family was named “Musical Family of America” in 1989 by presidential decree and was the subject of a nationally televised PBS documentary in 1993. Two of the brothers (Jason and Zach) were featured in the documentary film, “Music From the Inside Out,” in 2005.

Joined by three additional musicians and co-producer Rodney Whittenberg, the DePue Brothers Band began performing and recording in 2004. Their first album, “Classical Grass,” sold out of its first printing. Their album, “Weapons of Grass Construction,” with its progressive mix of genres, gives a direct nod to their classical training while adding a deeper infusion of rock and blues.
