Down it went
The old, dilapidated building at 623 Baker that once served as a warehouse for the C.O. Mammels grocery store is not more. Crews from Stone Sand have razed the structure and all that remains are mounds of dirt, a hole in the ground and assorted scrap as workers worked to clear the site Tuesday afternoon. A complaint and notice that the building was unsafe and dangerous had been sent to owner, Professional Cargo Services Inc. of Wichita in an issue dating back to last summer. There was a public hearing June 6 and the bid from Stone Sand was approved in August.
