Driver taken to hospital after truck hits cow

A motorist was transported to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington early Saturday, after a truck hit a cow in the roadway.
According to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office, Philip Donecker, 18, of Ellinwood was injured when the 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 overturned just after 1 a.m. He was driving north in the 900 block of NE 140 Ave. and swerved to avoid the cow as it entered the roadway. The truck hit the cow and rolled one time.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt.
