Duck hunting season begins on Saturday, Oct. 11 for the Cheyenne Bottoms area. Duck hunters are invited to stop by the Kansas Wetlands Education Center from 8 a.m. to noon for a free breakfast. Biscuits and gravy, coffee and juice will be served. The breakfast is sponsored by Great Bend Regional Hospital.
The Cheyenne Bottoms Ducks Unlimited Chapter will be holding a raffle and silent auction for outdoor-related merchandise. Waterfowl identification and waterfowl hunting information booths will also be available. The Kansas Wetlands Education Center is located at the southeast corner of Cheyenne Bottoms along K-156.
