Barton County Farm Bureau has award two area seniors, whose parents are Barton County Farm Bureau members, each with a $500 scholarship.
The 2018 recipients are Laren Miller and Kayanna Hammeke.
Throughout Miller’s years at Great Bend High School, she has sustained an admirable GPA in her classes and is ranked in the top ten percent. She has been involved in sports plus many other extracurricular activities including Future Farmers of America. Miller plans to attend Fort Hays State University and major in biochemistry.
Hammeke is a graduate of Ellinwood High School and plans to attend Kansas State University majoring in public administration. Hammeke was involved in numerous activities and proved her leadership abilities by serving as an officer for several organizations. Hammeke is a member in the National Honor Society.
