Barton County Prevention scholarships available

Barton County 2011 high school graduates and voc tech and college students enrolled for fall 2011—Sophmores through Seniors—are eligible to apply for 2011 Barton County Prevention Scholarships if they have not previously received the prevention scholarship.
The $250 scholarships can be used for books and supplies, tuition, or room and board at any accredited college, community college, or technical school in the United States.
Scholarships will be awarded to students who graduated from high schools in Barton County—Great Bend, Ellinwood, Claflin, and Hoisington. Candidates who have drug, alcohol, and/or tobacco prevention experience and/or community service will be given preference for this scholarship.

Applications will be due by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug.15, at the Barton County Health Department and scholarships will be awarded on Aug. 16.
