Great Bend High School musicians achieving “I”s at the State Festival last Saturday in Newton were, front row: Hannah Mosier, marimba; Taylor Fry, flute; Holly Mosier, and Estella Schumacher, voice; and Taylor Lampe, trumpet. Second row: Saxophone Quintet members Nick Moyers, Colton Lagerman, Spencer Keil, Stu Hogg and Jake Kohman. “II” ratings were awarded to Nick Moyers, alto sax; Austin Habash, Andrew Coster and the Brass Ensemble (Miles Orth, Kameron Boese, Taylor Lampe, Matthew Bruner, Preston Miller, Elena Lewis, Luke Abbott, Stephanie Langer, Genesis Rose, Kiralynn Bunn and Logan Boyd).
Instrumental and vocal students will present the 40th annual Variety Show at 7:30 p.m. May 6 and 7, and at 2 p.m. on May 8 in the GBHS auditorium. The Spring Band Concert will be 7 p.m. on May 9 in the GBHS gym. The band concert is free and the public is invited to attend.
