Barton Community College’s Center for Adult Education will start its 9-week GED Preparation Class this Tuesday.The orientation session, which is a prerequisite for the course, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 2-5 at 1025 Main St. in Great Bend. Those interested can call ahead or arrive on the first day of orientation. Regular coursework begins on Sept. 8 and is offered from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Tuesday and Thursday or in the evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.Barton’s Coordinator of Adult Education Chris Lemon said he hopes students will view their GED as an open doorway to greater opportunities in post-secondary education.
