Hoisington Lodge #331 A.F. & A.M. of Kansas met on May 17 to congratulate and present scholarship checks to area students: Hadleigh Gardner, Randall Martin, Peyton Broeker, Molly Schneider, Joanna Lockwood, Madison Pata, Brooke Reif and Emily Jasnoski.
The students received checks of $500 or $1,000 for the 2018-2019 school year. These scholarships are renewable each year by applying online and are awarded to graduating seniors and students already attending four and two year universities and colleges, including vocational and technical colleges throughout the state. These eight students received a total of $6,500 in scholarships.
Also present was Jaci Schremmer who was awarded the V.C. Rowe/Masonic Memorial Scholarship of $500, to be awarded $250 for each semester of the 2018-2019 school year. In addition, Hayden Gardner was present to receive a scholarship to attend the 2018 Kansas Masonic All-State High School Marching Band Camp where they perform during Half time of the Annual Kansas East-West Shrine Bowl football game.
The Lodge will also present scholarships later this year to other students. All together the Lodge will award about $15,000 in scholarships for the 2018-2019 school year. Applications can be made online at kansasmasonic.foundation/scholarships between January 1 and March 15 each year for the succeeding year.
