Throughout this school year the Hoisington Middle School has been participating in an all-school book read for the first time. The book chosen was “A Home in America: A Volga German Story,” by Eunice Boeve from Phillipsburg.
As the students have been reading through the book this year they have been learning about the Volga German heritage. This included a field trip to Victoria.
On Wednesday, April 18, the students were treated to a special afternoon in which the author came and spoke to the students. They also had a chance to witness a grand march and taste German food.
