Jessica Leiker and Abbie Schuster, from Great Bend, have begun their hands-on, clinical training at the KU School of Medicine-Wichita before receiving medical doctor degrees. For the last two years, Leiker and Schuster studied biological sciences in Kansas City.
For more than 35 years, the KU School of Medicine–Wichita has been fulfilling its mission of “Educating Doctors for Kansas” while improving the health of Kansans by providing hands-on, clinical education in the 3rd and 4th years of medical school. Starting in the fall of 2011, the Wichita campus will expand to a full, four-year program.
