On March 6, the Parnassus Club held their annual piano and voice auditions at the Barton Community College Fine Arts Building.
For this audition, the voice students perform two art songs memorized and piano students perform one memorized solo for an adjudicator who then writes an evaluation of the student’s performance and gives awards in elementary, junior and senior divisions. The adjudicator for both voice and piano was Steve Gustafson, McPherson music instructor.
Elementary piano division award was: first place, Amy To. Junior Piano Division awards: first place, Allen To, second place, Daphne Doll, honorable mentions, Luke Maneth and Joshua Lovett. High School Piano Division Awards: first place, Kaylyn Oberle, second place, BrayLynn Anshutz, third place, Elizabeth Gerdes, Honorable Mention, Baleigh Fry.
Area piano teachers with students participating were Karole Erikson, Marlene Regehr, Lorrie Stickney, Becky Dudrey and Darlene Boley.
Junior Vocal Division award: first place, Haley Troyer. Senior Vocal Division award: First place, Allison Muth, second place, Kayn Millholland third place, Aubrey Maneth, Honorable Mentions, Devan Donovan and Kathryn Snapp.
