Three FFA members earn scholarships sponsored by Universal Technical Institute

Universal Technical Institute sponsored scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to the top three individuals placing in the Agricultural Mechanics Career Development Event.
Recipients of this year’s scholarships is Devin Thomas, Russell FFA.
“We are proud to honor our members with scholarships that celebrate their talents and accomplishments,” said Daryl Simmons, Kansas FFA Association reporter. “We are grateful to the Universal Technical Institute for their commitment to student success after high school.”
The Agricultural Mechanics CDE is a competitive activity that allows students to apply classroom knowledge to real-life situations. Activities included in the event are a written exam, a team activity, demonstration of problem-solving skills, and hands-on performance activities. Areas of emphasis include environmental and natural resource systems; machinery and equipment systems; structural and energy systems; and industry and marketing systems.
