Election Notes: Finance reports filed; question approved

The three Barton County candidates who missed the Oct. 29 deadline to file reports of their pre-general election receipts and expenditures have now filed those reports, Barton County Clerk Donna Zimmerman said. The reports show campaign contributions received and money spent between July 27 and Oct. 25.
Buck Causey, who ran for a seat on the Barton County Commission, filed his termination report, closing the books his campaign. He started the period with $1,156 and raised another $150. All of the money was spent, leaving an ending balance of $0.;
Kevin Wondra, who was reelected as Barton County Treasurer, faxed his termination report to the county clerk’s office on Friday. It showed he had $38.21 on hand on July 27 and did not raise or spend any more money.
Rich Unrein, who ran in the Republican primary for sheriff, started the period with $945 and raised $325. After spending $1,448 on his campaign, he ended $148 in the hole.


Pawnee Rock Township
Voters in the Pawnee Rock Township have approved funds to “acquire and erect a building for township use, at a total cost not to exceed $65,000.” The question of whether or not to approve the building was on the general election ballot. There were 114 yes votes and 44 no votes.
